Every morning, I feel blessed and fortunate that I get to do what I do for a living.  I get to feed and flow my creative soul and for me, there’s just nothing better than that.  But what people don’t tell you is sometimes it’s gonna suck.  Sometimes, people won’t “get” your work.  Sometimes your heart will be completely broken.  Sometimes people you care about won’t care about your work.  Sometimes your job will create rifts in your relationships.  Sometimes people will try to take advantage of you.

There will be tears.

There will be questioning whether operating your own business is worth it.

Small business creative ownership is not for the fait of heart.

I know this, because I just went through it.

But chin up, Buttercup.  You are not alone.  Even 6 years in for me and I still go through it.  There are clients who really appreciate you.  Like reeeeeeally appreciate you.  And I hate to even call those clients, because they are so much more than that to me.  They appreciate that you basically create a time machine for them.  To always go back to that moment in time and get the feels all over again.  There’s people waiting to see what you’re going to post on social media.  There are people who look up to you.  And people who want you to succeed.  Your cheerleaders.  Just keep doing you, because you are solid gold, baby.
