When I first met Megan and Mike, I knew we were a good fit.  I just couldn’t put my finger on what it was, but I was so pumped they chose me to photograph their wedding.  And then I realized it – Megan is kind of my spirit animal.  She’s super organized, a Jill of all Trades and a total take the project by the horns kind of girl.  I mean, she made almost everything at their wedding!  Her belt – the centerpieces – even the invitations (which were fantastic!).  She got the DIY part from her family though – the veil she wore was her mother’s from her wedding day (which she made!).  Her Mother also made Megan & Mike’s cake and the flower girls had used baskets that Megan’s Grandma had made when her and her sister were little.  Pretty amazing.

Megan & Mike’s day was perfect.  With a small bridal party of the closest people in their lives (most of whom were siblings), both took on the day is a very joyful and laid back tone.  I’d have to say my favorite part of the day was a request they had when we first met.  As we sat at our first meeting, Megan asked if on their wedding day, we could go to their apartment and get a few photographs with their cats.  We totally did and it was so sweet – not to mention nice for Megan and Mike to take a minute to take in their day.  Their day was so amazingly, perfectly personal – between Megan’s DIY projects, the family heirlooms they used (like Megan’s necklace and cake topper), their favorite cupcakes and the selfie stick photo booth – it’s not one I will son forget.  Congratulations you two – your love and day was so amazing to photograph!
